The new house doesn't feel like home yet. I'm not entirely sure why. My choices are:
1. It is not Vancouver.
2. I associate the beach with vacations.
3. I'm out of my regular routine.
4. I can't find alot of my stuff (some is still boxed...and I can only find 2 pairs of khaki colored socks. I know I had at least six pair AND I can only find a few pair of my underwear.)
5. New furniture.
6. Stairs in the house.
7. My fridge door opens on the opposite side.
8. I have so much cupboard space that one cupboard is completely empty and another has paper napkins in it.
9. I don't have a garbage can yet and my garage is beginning to smell like garbage. The fact that I haven't yet turned on my garbage service isn't helping this.
10. The cold hardwood floor.
11. A lack of companionship.
12. I feel like I'm stalking my old friends if I contact them.
13. I don't have any of my old routines and I'm a bit skittish of starting new ones. ie: getting a cup of coffee, on my day off, at the local cafe.
14. I haven't yet put forth the effort to meet any new people.
15. I swear the toilet seats are colder than any I have sat on.
16. Sterling doesn't have a routine yet.
17.

Hows it going? Can we come visit?
ReplyDeleteThe wrong way opening fridge door is enough to jack up a whole day. I hope you have the underwear situation sorted out...
ReplyDeleteTara-it's going good. Of course you can visit.
ReplyDeleteKaty-yes to both.
