Sterling and I have been in Rockaway Beach for a week. I couldn't be happier. The last three months at my old job drained the life out of me. I got a job out at the coast and Sterling moved out here with me. Sweet. I drive him to Beaverton on Fridays so he can hang with his mom. Sundays I pick him up.
Sterling didn't have school this week. I took him to his new school to enroll him and their trimester was ending in four days. The counselor didn't see any point in having him start with only four days left so...no school for the boy for one week.
He chilled. I came home on Wednesday and he told me he was bored. I told him to go down to the beach. Go into town. I let him know that he COULD be in school...better to be bored then in school he figured.
He collected some sand dollars and checked out the booming metropolis that is our new town.
I love my new job. I love living at the coast. I love the small town mentality. Everybody is friendly. The boy is here with me! Life is good. It's a fresh start! I do miss my Vancouver friends.
But, I am happy again! It sure feels good.
