Thanks to computers, I can track exactly what Sterling does at school.
I can see his grades. I can see if he was tardy (more than once). I can also see what he had for lunch and how much money is in his account. Two days ago I gave him $40 to add to his lunch account. Today, I looked at his account and he hadn't put any cash in. When I asked him where his money was, he told me he had been going to the school store and buying lunch there.
In two days, he told me he spent $20. When I asked him to show me the change, he couldn't find it.
So $40 down the drain. I told him his allowance ($20) was going to go to his lunch fund. And from now on all cash given to him would go directly into that account. No more purchases at the school store.
Fifteen minutes later, on Facebook, he posted that he was selling his PS2 for $60.
His mom is taking him to Disneyland in a couple of days...coincidence??? Probably not.
When I angrily ask him if he thinks I'm stupid, he says no.
